Dear FCI Members and Contract Partners,
Dear FCI breeders,
Dear Exhibitors,
Dear All,

With reference to  FCI communication dated October 13 2020 I have the pleasure to inform you that the following titles:

FCI DOG OF THE YEAR 2022
FCI JUNIOR DOG OF THE YEAR 2022
FCI VETERAN DOG OF THE YEAR 2022

will be awarded to the dogs that will win BOTH the FCI World Winner 2020 title (in Madrid) AND the FCI World Winner 2022 title (in Sao Paulo).

The two national canine organisations (Spain: RSCE and Brazil: CBKC) got the right to organize the FCI World Dog Show and to award the FCI World Winner titles 2020 and 2022, solely in Madrid (2020) and Sao Paulo (2022) respectively. The Junior and Veteran titles, FCI  Junior/Veteran World Winner 2020/2022, will also be awarded.

A long - and finally successful - round of negotiations was initiated by the FCI, based on the wish of the RSCE. The talks were held by the leaders of RSCE and CBKC. I had the pleasure to chair the online meetings, with the participation of the FCI Executive Director, Y. De Clercq.

Many options were discussed during the negotiations. On behalf of the FCI General Committee, I proposed to establish the above specific "once in the history" official FCI titles to promote our unprecedented two FCI World Dog Shows in the same calendar year.

I seize the opportunity to specifically underline the generosity of the CBKC Board for their strong will to help the FCI keep its united spirit in the interest of our breeders and exhibitors, and for the sake of pedigree dogs.

Needless to say that the FCI General Committee unanimously supported the initiative in order to get the agreement between the two national canine organisations reached.

I personally want to thank everyone involved in the procedure for making it possible to happen! Everyone understood the importance to act and cooperate generously in these difficult times!
