To register kennel names at international level.
To homologate the titles of International Beauty, Show, Working, Beauty and Working, Obedience, Agility, Races, Beauty and Performance and Herding Champion.
To update, translate and publish the breed standards into the four FCI working languages (English, French, German and Spanish).
To keep up to date the lists of judges internationally licensed to award the CACIB in international shows.
To translate, update and publish the various international regulations.
To set up the calendar of the international dog shows.
Contrary to a widespread idea, the FCI is not a registry and does not issue any pedigree. In addition, it has no records of breeders addresses; this information is available from the national canine organisations recognised by the FCI.
