Press Release: FCI General Assembly 21-22 August 2023

Further to the FCI General Assembly Meeting held in Geneva (CH) on 21-22 August 2023 please find the results and main decisions which were made:  

FORMAL APPOINTEMENTS

Formal appointement of the Section representatives as General Committee members: 

Formal appointement of the three members of the Financial commission (1 member per Section) 

ELECTIONS

Election of the FCI General Committee members (mandates until 2027):

Election of the FCI President (mandate until 2025)

Election of the members of the FCI mandatory commissions:

• Standards Commission (mandates until 2027): 

• Scientific Commission (mandates until 2027): 

• Disciplinary and Arbitration Commission (mandates until 2027)             

Mr M.A. MARTíNEZ was elected Honorary member of the FCI further to the proposal of the FCI General Committee on August 22 2023.

MEMBERSHIP APPLICATIONS

The following country is now a FCI Full member:

• Kazakhstan (Union of Cynologists of Kazakhstan – UCK) 

The following country is now a FCI Associate member:

• Mongolia (Mongolian Kynological Federation – MKF)

MAIN DECISIONS

Further to the proposals of the FCI General Committee

• Approval of Amendments to Art. 17.13 of the FCI Internal Rules 
• Approval of additional fee in FCI Grooming competitions

Further to the proposals of the FCI full members 

• The creation of a new FCI non-mandatory Commission for Hoopers has been approved (joint proposal of the French Société Centrale Canine pour l'Amélioration des Races de Chiens en France  - SCC and the German Verband für das Deutsche Hundewesen  - VDH) 
• The creation of a new FCI non-mandatory Commission for Truffle Searching has been approved (proposal of the French Société Centrale Canine pour l'Amélioration des Races de Chiens en France  - SCC) 

World Dog Show

• The FCI World Dog Show 2028 will be held in Mexico (MX)

During the meeting of the FCI General Committee held on August 22 2023, right after the FCI General Assembly meeting, the FCI Executive Committee under Dr Tamás Jakkel, FCI President elected on August 21 2023, has been composed as follows:
